Our colors have changed...but not our philosophy

Dillsburg, Pa. (Jan 13th, 2010) – Joseph Machine Company (JMC), a national, leading OEM of automated saw and fabrication machines details ongoing company wide GREEN initiatives

"Our colors have changed... but not our philosophy" - (John Hollern, JMC Director of Sales and Marketing)

You may have noticed from our new website and brochures that JMC has recently changed the color of our machinery from green to white.  However, “green” is still very much a part of who we are and what we do.

As an OEM, JMC is concerned about the impact it has on the environment and has taken steps to reduce the carbon footprint of our 100,000 square feet manufacturing facility.  We utilize a geothermal heating and air conditioning system and our efficient T5 lights consume 60% less energy when compared to high pressure sodium lighting.

On the machinery side, our “zero scrap” saws reduce the volume of waste material generated, creating opportunities for energy savings on collection and recycling activities. All of the steel, vinyl and aluminum chips that are accumulated internally during the testing period of the machine are sorted by type and collected. The scrap is then sent to the appropriate recycling facility for further processing as a renewable raw material.

The fixtures we utilize on our machinery are made from recyclable aluminum.   The in-feed guides and several types of clamps are made from reclaimed Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene, which is a sustainable material.

Additionally, energy saving features are programmed into our machinery.  Every machine is equipped with a “power save mode” feature, which can be customized and turns off the motors and tooling when it is idle for a pre-determined period of time (i.e. break and lunch periods).  The benefit is not only a reduction in the energy consumption of the machine but also enhanced motor and tool life.

We respect the environment and recognize that all resources are limited.  To that end, JMC is committed to designing and building machinery that preserves these valuable resources so they will be available for generations to come.
